Welcome to the Biblical Counseling Home Page
Thank you for visiting the Wisdom4Today Biblical Counseling Home Page. The purpose of this page is to provide Biblical counseling information, course work, and resources to help with the struggles of life from a purely Biblical perspective. We provide this service because we care about you and take seriously Jesus' promise that He made in John 10:10(b) of the Bible:
I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. (John 10:10b)
In Jesus' statement, He is stating a fact that it is through Him that you have not only eternal life, but that you also can have an abundant life of victory, peace, and joy every day of our life. Having life and having it more abundantly through the Word of God, the Bible, will give you hope for the daily struggles we all encounter. When you have the hope provided by Jesus Christ you have nothing to lose and everything to gain! May God bless you as you visit this page and I hope that this ministry enables you to be a blessing to others. Dr. Mike

Why Biblical Counseling?
We live in a world that is moving so fast that we often cannot keep up. It seems like no matter what we do, we never have time for the things that really matter. We want stronger marriages, deeper friendships, and lives that are more meaningful. Television, self-help books, the Internet, friends, family and even some counselors all seem to have the answers, but often those answers contradict each other. After a while, many conclude that the life they yearn for cannot be obtained.
There are answers to life's struggles and it is just a matter of knowing where to find them. We believe that these answers are found in the Bible, or the Word of God. 2 Timothy 3:16- 17 tells us this:
"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works."
By taking the wisdom of God as found in His Scriptures and showing people how to apply it in practical ways to life's struggles we have witnessed positive changes in countless lives. Marriages that were in shambles have been restored. Families in crisis have been mended. Those caught in the trap of addictive or self defeating lifestyles have been set free. We have seen lives drowning in despair, rescued and later abounding in hope and happiness.
The following is a short overview of our Biblical counseling philosophy:
Our Goal: Our goal in providing Christian Biblical counseling resources is to help you meet the challenges of life in a way that will please and honor the Lord Jesus Christ and allow you to enjoy fully His love for you and His plans for your life.
Biblically Based: We believe that the Bible provides thorough guidance and instruction for faith and life. Therefore, our counseling is based on Scriptural principles rather than those of secular psychology or psychiatry. More specifically, this means that the resources we provide are not those that would require a license in fields such as medicine, nursing, or psychology. Instead, the resources we provide are limited to that which can only be provided by Biblical counselors.
Not Professional Advice: Some of the resources may be provided by individuals that work in professional fields outside this ministry. However, as a part of this ministry, any resources they provide are strictly based on Biblical teachings and are not to be considered to be the same kind of professional advice and services that they may do when they are hired in their professional capacities. Therefore, if you have significant, legal, financial, medical, or other technical questions that are non-Biblical in nature, you should seek advice from an independent professional. We will be happy to cooperate with such advisors and help you to consider their counsel in light of relevant Scriptural principles.

Do you live locally and need to meet one on one with a Biblical Counselor?
If you live near Albuquerque, NM we may be available to help. First, contact us so that we can schedule a pre-counseling appointment. We require that the person seeking to begin counseling make the contact and not someone on their behalf (the only exception to this policy is in the case of a parent or guardian calling to arrange counseling for their minor child or the person in their care). By doing this we know that you are personally committed to taking the first step and are not being scheduled for an appointment when you are not committed to attending.
Before we meet for your appointment, we would like you to complete and fill out a Personal Data Inventory (PDI). You may click on the "Counseling Forms" button on the Counseling Menu (above) and print the form.
